Well, our time here on Stradbroke Island has come to an end. We got to spend a little extra time here than originally planned due to being held up by our accessory number plate for the bike rack not arriving on time. But who could be mad when we were held up and had to stay on an island like this?
I ordered the number plate before Christmas but long story short it didn’t work out the way we planned. We wanted to be on the road by the 10th of January, but it’s never that easy… Looks like Shana has a cracked tooth.
In preparation for this trip, we thought we would do the right thing and get all our health checks done. Turns out we both needed some very small fillings done… *A few more in mine than Shana’s… must be my sweet tooth*. Since having the work my teeth have been abit sensitive but nothing I can’t live with, where as Shana has been complaining of a sore tooth much worse then mine. So here we are again at the dentist to rectify what’s wrong with a suspected cracked tooth. I don’t want to say I told you so but the motto of “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” seems to be very true most the time… Specially with the old Volkswagens… But hey, what’s another couple of days in the scheme of things.
And to be honest I can’t help but feel we aren’t ment to be leaving just yet. Might be the superstition coming out in me (sailors son). It turns out if we were to of left when we wanted to its likely we would run into a stream of crappy weather anyway so we aren’t fussed.
While on the island I read a quote which hit home for me abit.
“A good goal should scare you a little and excite you a lot” – Chris Soriano.
Thought that pretty much sums up my feelings for now… The nerves are kicking in. – Myles.
